Artie

Artie is a sweet FIV+ cat. He is shy at first until he knows you.
His left ear is thick and crinkled called a “cauliflower” ear. It is likely because he caused physical trauma to his ear from an ongoing untreated ear infection or ear mites.
Quick Facts about FIV+ Cats:
It is not contagious to humans or to other animals, it is species-specific. It cannot be transmitted to dogs or humans.
They can lead a long healthy life. They must stay indoors and have yearly veterinary exams. Stress can negatively affect all cats but for a FIV+ cat it can be worse because of their immune system.
Dental care is very important because FIV+ cats are more prone to gum disease. A healthy diet is especially important. Close monitoring of health and behaviour is important.
They have wonderful personalities just like non FIV+ cats 😊
